Big CatS - Hypnose
"Dare Dare", Quick Analysis of a Work of Art:
The big cats are the object of a very strong symbolism in many ways: religious beliefs or not, mythologies, astrologies, zodiacal signs, Chinese medicines, national emblems, advertisements, sports mascots...
Symbol of strength, courage, valour, ferocity, its very name is associated with all these to designate a person showing one of these qualities!
You will have understood it, the tiger fascinates!
This is why the species is in decline. Long victims of hunting for trophies or their skin, they are still the target of poaching to supply the Chinese pharmacopoeia. Tigers also face the inevitable reduction of their habitat and natural prey.
Even if protective measures are taken, tiger populations are still fragile.
This was the first painting I did on Masonite. Not only did I enjoy painting on this new material, but I also had a lot of fun doing this painting of a close-up portrait of a tiger where its gaze seems to bewitch the person who stares at it a little too long. That's why I gave it the title "Look at met"!
