2013 - L'art d'être un gibbon

The Art of Being a Gibbon – An exhibition committed to Kalaweit

An art exhibition in support of gibbon conservation
In 2013, I had the honor of participating in the exhibition “The Art of Being a Gibbon,” a charity art event organized to benefit the Kalaweit Association, founded by Chanee (Aurélien Brulé). This exceptional exhibition brought together artists, committed personalities, and nature lovers around a common goal: to support the protection of gibbons and their natural habitat in Indonesia.
An art project in support of an urgent ecological cause
The exhibition took place in Paris, with the active participation of actress and event patron Muriel Robin, who is deeply involved in animal welfare. My work, which focuses on expressive portraits of gibbons, was exhibited in this supportive setting. Each of my works aimed to capture the emotion, personality, and dignity of these endangered apes in a style that is both realistic and committed.
When art becomes an act of activism
“The Art of Being a Gibbon” raised public awareness of deforestation and the threats to wildlife in Southeast Asia. By combining artistic creation and ecological commitment, this exhibition demonstrated that art can be a powerful vehicle for mobilization. Thanks to the sale of works and donations collected, the funds contributed directly to Kalaweit's field actions in favor of gibbons.
A strong human and artistic collaboration
This exhibition left a deep impression on me because of Chanee's sincere commitment, Muriel Robin's generosity, and the richness of the exchanges between artists. Participating in this project reinforced my desire to link animal art to essential causes, to make my works resonate beyond the aesthetic framework, toward a collective consciousness.ive.
