Redstart and thistles - The poetry of the wild world

A frozen moment between delicacy and character In this captivating work, a redstart stands proudly perched on a stake, surrounded by graphic thistles. Its bright plumage contrasts with the harshness of its surroundings, illustrating the resilience and harmony that reign in nature.
- Remarkable artistic precision
Painted in oil on canvas, this scene is distinguished by its meticulous use of textures and light. Every feather of the redstart and every detail of the thistles is reproduced with striking realism, capturing the very essence of wilderness.
- A painting exhibited in the United States
Presented in an American gallery, this work bears witness to international artistic recognition. Its balance of finesse and intensity will appeal to collectors and wildlife art enthusiasts alike.
- An artwork to collect
The original is currently in galleries in the USA, but limited edition art prints are available. Order yours now to enrich your collection with an authentic, vibrant scene.

Behind the scene : What I want to share with you, as an artist.

In my garden, the Black Redstart is a faithful guest. Just like swallows, it heralds the return of spring. Every year, these lively little birds come back to nest near the house. Their delicate song fills the early morning air and accompanies my days in the studio. Over time, I’ve come to recognize each of their habits — the quick flicks of their tail, their hovering flights as they catch insects mid-air...
In this painting, I wanted to bring together three simple yet meaningful elements from our countryside: a perched Black Redstart, the graceful silhouette of thistles, and an old weathered wooden post. These aged posts, often covered with lichen, once dotted the rural landscape of the Lot region. Now replaced by modern fencing, they are slowly disappearing. And yet, they hold a timeless charm — a quiet connection to nature and to the memory of our traditional landscapes.
