This oil painting on aluminum (40 cm x 40 cm / 15.7" x 15.7") offers a luminous, hyperrealistic study of a white iris in the evening light. Crafted to reveal the transparency of the petals and capture subtle nuances of white and blue, this artwork demonstrates high technical precision. Recognized internationally, this painting was a finalist in the Jackson's Painting Prize 2020 in England, a semi-finalist in the 15th Art Renewal Center Salon (ARC), and featured in the "Radical Botanicals" exhibition at Lovetts Gallery in the United States.

In my large artist's garden in Figeac, irises are plentiful. This particular one is deeply special: grown from a single seed, it took four years before offering its very first bloom. This painting was born from that long wait, crafted to capture the transparency of the petals and the subtle nuances of white and blue.
