Behind the Scene
My painting represents a common butterfly of our gardens in the light of the setting sun flying over white peonies. The animal and plant world, all dressed in white, symbolizes the original beauty, purity and life. The butterfly with its outstretched wings is like an angel flying over the paradise in bloom.

Laurence Saunois has a very large artist's garden filled with flowers. In this painting, she has represented on an aluminum board her favorite flowers: white peonies accompanied by a butterfly in flight. For her, her garden is her paradise where butterflies fly like angels in search of their souls. She has worked the shades of white with many colors to highlight the delicacy of the petals.
