This large format artwork was a real challenge for me. I had to apprehend a new way of painting and tame the color. This first painting, which represents the water lilies of Claude Monet's Garden, took me 4 years of work and nearly 1000 hours.
The finality of this major project: "Nympheus Luminansis", the water lilies of light, is to create a whole series of paintings in square format (1 meter x 1 meter) or double square (1 meter x 2 meters) which will be exhibited all together.
To obtain these vibrant colors, I worked with Schaal oil paints. Made by a master colorist in the purest tradition with linseed or walnut oil, they are very rich in pigments and allow to sublimate each brush stroke.
